Nate Diaz hands himself in to police after choking out Logan Paul lookalike during street brawl
Nate Diaz has handed himself in to local law enforcement after choking out a man during a street fight.
The UFC legend attended KSI’s latest Misfits Boxing event to support one of his teammates when he got into an altercation with reality TV star Chase DeMoor.
Their beef spilled onto the streets of New Orleans where a multi-person brawl broke out and left Rodney Peterson – a trained fighter who looks like YouTuber Logan Paul – unconscious on the floor.
A video of the street brawl clearly shows Diaz choking out Peterson before lowering him to the floor, but his lawyer Walter Becker insists the MMA star was acting in self-defence.
Despite that, a warrant was issued for the MMA icon's arrest.
“After investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Nate Diaz. He has been charged with second-degree battery.” a New Orleans Police Department spokesperson told ESPN.
On Thursday, veteran MMA reporter Ariel Helwani confirmed through Diaz’s representative that the popular former UFC fighter has handed himself in and is currently trying to prove his innocence.
“Update on Nate Diaz: “Nate voluntarily turned himself into the New Orleans Police Department this morning approximately at 7:10AM CT.” Helwani tweeted.

The 37-year-old is booked to box Jake Paul on August 5 in Utah.
Concerned that he may be left without a comeback opponent following his first career loss against Tommy Fury, Paul agreed that KSI can step in if Diaz’s legal issues become a problem.
Diaz hasn’t fought since beating Tony Ferguson at UFC 279 last September.
Post-fight, he announced that his 15-year run in MMA’s premier promotion is over and confirmed rumours that he plans to move into boxing following years of sparring with the likes of Andre Ward and Regis Prograis.
After booking a fight against ‘The Problem Child’, Diaz confirmed he plans to return to the UFC at some point and fans are hopeful they’ll still get to see a much-anticipated trilogy fight with Conor McGregor.
