Cristiano Ronaldo is a Portuguese professional soccer player who plays for Serie A club Juventus and is the current captain of the Portugal national team. He has been named the best player in the world, winning five Ballon d’Or awards, 31 major trophies, seven league titles, five UEFA Nations Leagues throughout his career, and holds the record for the most goals and assists in the history of the entire UEFA Champions League.

Cristiano Ronaldo owns many real estate properties, although his villa in Madeira, Portugal can be considered his primary residence, as it is where he and his family stayed when he tested positive for coronavirus in 2020.

The soccer superstar has a net worth of around $500 million, with an annual salary of $70 million, letting him have free reign when it comes to real estate. He earns money from his professional soccer career, of course, along with being a product ambassador, brand endorser, and entrepreneur.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Beginnings in Professional Soccer

Cristiano Ronaldo was born on a small island off of the western coast of Portugal known as Madeira. He was the youngest of four children and grew up in a working-class neighborhood in a very small home that had full views of the ocean.

His early life was not easy, and he would oftentimes have to deal with his father’s drinking problems, as well as financial instability. Cristiano seldom saw his mother, as she worked as a cook and a cleaning person to help support the family.

Cristiano Ronaldo was introduced to the game of soccer by his dad because his father was the equipment manager at a boy’s soccer club. By 10 years old, Ronaldo’s entire world was practicing his soccer skills.

He apparently would sneak out of his bedroom window to go play soccer when he was supposed to be doing chores or doing his homework.

When Cristiano was a teenager, his talent had become more widely recognized and he was signed with Sporting Portugal in 2001.

At just 16 years old, Manchester United paid over 12 million euros to sign the young athlete, which was a record amount for a teenage player. His skills were unbeatable and he turned a lot of heads with his performance, leading him to become a highly sought-after player.

Cristiano played in his first Cup final in 2004, where he scored the team’s first three goals and ended up helping them win the championship.

Ronaldo ended up signing a five-year contract with the team for 31 million euros in 2007. A year later, he set the record for the number of goals scored in a season and won the FIFA World Player of the Year award in 2008.

Ronaldo ended up leaving Manchester United in 2009 when he was approached with the opportunity to play for the Spanish team, Real Madrid for $131 million. He played with Real Madrid until signing with Italian Serie A club, Juventus, in July of 2018.

Juventus paid Real Madrid a $140 million transfer fee and saddened but hopeful, Ronaldo paid tribute to his Real Madrid fans in an open letter stating that his time playing for the team “were quite possibly some of the happiest years of [his] life”.

He continues to play for the Italian team Juventus and injuries aside, still has a thriving professional soccer career. Cristiano Ronaldo maintains his title as the world’s best soccer player with the number of records he has set during his extensive soccer career.

The Soccer Superstar’s Large Real Estate Portfolio

With an incredibly high net world as the world’s best soccer player, Cristiano does not hold back on the number of homes he owns. He owns or has previously owned real estate in Machester, Turin, Marbella, Madrid, and a home on his home island, Madeira.

Cristiano Ronaldo played for Manchester United in the early 2000s, so of course, he bought a $3 million mansion to live in during his time playing for the team. The residence in Manchester includes an indoor swimming pool, steam room, jacuzzi, gym, home theatre, and five bedrooms.

Ronaldo then transferred to Real Madrid, so he purchased another mansion in the La Finca neighborhood of Madrid which includes an outdoor and indoor pool and an incredible state-of-the-art gym.

He then transferred to Juventus, which meant another expensive home purchase. His home in Turin is off of a private road that is guarded by security.

His next purchase was a vacation home in Costa del Sol, Marbella that features four bedrooms, incredible views of the sea, a private golf course, infinity pool, and ceiling to floor windows.

Of course, the athlete had to purchase at least one home on his home island of Madeira. It is assumed that Ronaldo’s primary residence is in Madeira, where he is oftentimes seen on social media hanging out with his large family, tanning on one of his many decks, swimming in one of his two Olympic-sized pools, and renovating.
